Upper Beaver Meadows, Rocky Mountain National Park

Upper Beaver Meadows in Rocky Mountain National Park is just to the west of the visitor center inside the park entrance, not far from Estes Park, Colorado. The area is a trailhead for great hiking, but is also popular with birders. Elk may be seen bedded down among the trees near the trail or along the stream, remember to keep your distance. At night, the lack of light pollution provides great views of the Milky Way and starry skies, an important resource of this special place.
