The Sound is located on the Isle of Man off the west coast of England. View seals, dolphins and sharks just off the coast and enjoy footpaths at the southernmost tip of the island. The Sound car park is one of 26 registered Dark Sky Discovery Sites on the Isle of Man. With the help of Interpretation Boards on site, stargazers can fully enjoy the stunning views on offer in the Manx skies. An EarthSky user describes the stargazing possibilities: “Dark, dark skies. Uninterrupted views over the coast out across the Sea to Ireland. Listen to the seals barking as they settle down for the night. Perfect.”
