Terra Nova National Park

Terra Nova National Park is a Canadian national park located on the east coast of Newfoundland, about 139 miles (224 km) northwest of St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. As part of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada’s Dark Sky Preserve Program, Terra Nova is committed to protecting the nighttime environment by reducing energy consumption. This includes adjusting, retrofitting, or eliminating light fixtures as well as promoting and delivering new educational and interpretive programs on astronomy and other dark sky themes. In the summer, there are public programs and events to celebrate astronomy and the dark sky. The park also offers many different camping experiences, both primitive and developed for the most experienced or newfound campers. For more information, please visit online or call 709-533-2801.
