University of Texas at Austin, Roof of PMA

The Physics-Math-Astronomy building at the University of Texas at Austin is located within the university campus at the southeast corner of Dean Keeton (formerly 26th St.) and Speedway. Viewing sessions are held on the roof, which is only open during the weekly events.

Every Wednesday night while the University of Texas at Austin is in session, the Department of Astronomy sponsors FREE public star parties on the top roof of the Physics-Math-Astronomy building. Typically spring semester viewing runs from late January to early May, summer session viewing runs from early-to-mid June to mid-August, and fall semester viewing runs from early September to early December. All ages are welcome, but younger children must be under adult supervision at all times.

Viewing times change throughout the year so please check the website for current times before planning your visit. Please call 512-232-4265 for weather cancellation information. This line is updated approximately 30-45 minutes before the scheduled start time.
