South Fork State Recreation Area boasts flourishing meadows and rolling hills filled with northeastern Nevada wildlife. Sightings of mule deer, badgers, beavers and kit foxes are a common sight. With the Ruby Mountains as a backdrop, visitors easily and eagerly enjoy hunting, boating, swimming, fishing and stargazing. The park is wide open and features dark skies, and high desert camping on the edge of a large reservoir. The evenings are chilly so come prepared!
