Port Union

Port Union is a neighborhood located in the south-east corner of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, within the former suburb of Scarborough, just a 22 mile (35 km) distance from the heart of Toronto. Hotels, vacation lodges, and campgrounds are all available within the province and in neighboring cities. However while a beautiful destination for casual gazing, the area is not recommended for serious observations; the EarthSky friend who recommended Port Union says “Port Union offers little light pollution and unobstructed views of the night sky.” It’s a “union built town” with a social justice history depicting the vision of William Coaker and the Fisherman’s Protective Union who established a commercial and economic footing for fisherman breaking the bonds of merchants.
