Par Beach

Par Beach is a large, sandy beach located right south of a town called Par in Cornwall, England. Backed by sand dunes and stretching half a mile (0.8 km), Par Beach is great for swimming and popular with families. There is ample parking, easy access and plenty of facilities. The night skies are reasonably dark for a location in England, achieving a rating of class 4 in the Bortle Scale which makes the location viable for stargazing. The person that recommended this site to EarthSky provided the following information: “It’s on the south coast and the beach itself stretches about half a mile long. There’s plenty of parking that is behind small mounds so there is a bare minimum of artificial lights! I went almost every clear day during the first lockdown in the UK and it was the most beautiful thing I ever did see!”
