Paletuvier Bay

Parlatuvier Bay, located at the North Western end of Tobago within the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, is the island’s hidden gem. Unaffected by artificial illumination, the beach provides a dark and open sky for reasonable stargazing. It is also a safe place for camping overnight, starting a bonfire, having a barbeque, swimming, fishing, and snorkeling. One EarthSky reader says there are “low levels of light pollution. I stayed there one weekend walked out at 2 am in the morning and almost fainted from the sight of the number or stars in the sky!” Its value, perhaps, is in the beach’s golden sand and turquoise waters but the overall landscape is what really makes the beach a beauty to behold.
