Overlook Park at Tumwater Hill

The City of Tumwater is located at the base of the Deschutes River, where the water cascades to its final destination at the southern tip of Puget Sound. The rugged Olympic Mountains rise in the distance and Mount Rainier seems close enough to touch on a clear day. Tumwater is the oldest American settlement on Puget Sound. The area was chosen for its many natural resources, rivers, prairies, forests and beaches.

Find expansive views of the entire city with its scenic overlook, parking, and picnic facilities at Overlook Park. ‘It’s probably one of the highest points in the South Puget Sound. Wide, open views.’
