Muddy Run Observatory

Muddy Run Observatory, in Pennsylvania, is located within the Muddy Run Recreation Park near Holtwood, in Southern Lancaster County. With its twin telescope domes, the observatory was built in 2016 by Exelon Corp.—an American energy provider—and is operated by the Rittenhouse Astronomical Society (http://www.rittenhouseastronomicalsociety.org/) as a community outreach center and research facility. Muddy Run Observatory is open one night per month, generally Saturdays, for public open house, astronomy talks and stargazing opportunities with telescopes provided.
