The highest peak in Arkansas, Mount Magazine (2,753 feet a/s/l), is also remote and therefore light pollution free. The State Park is gorgeous and boasts the crown jewel of the entire Arkansas State Park system with its first class lodge. The natural scenery in the park is breathtaking. The Horse Camp is ideal for star gazing as it clear of trees. The only drawback may be winds which are frequently stronger than in the Arkansas River Valley below the mountain.
