Lion Rock Spring Campground

The Lion Rock Spring Campground offers a rustic, one-of-a-kind camping experience within the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, about 120 miles (193 km) southeast of Seattle, Washington. While there are no designated stargazing areas here, one EarthSky friend says “you’ll be camping directly under the stars in secluded sites that are usually occupied by local wildlife. Enjoy the expansive, unobstructed aerial views of the Lion Rock area. The campgrounds are full of are vantage points where you can look out on the surrounding areas and soak in the magnificence of Mother Nature’s handiwork.” Please note, however, that the grounds are closed October through April. For more information, please visit online or call the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest headquarters at 509-664-9200.
