Gálvez Castle is located about 3 kilometers northwest of the town of the same name, south of the province of Toledo.
Not much is known about the history of this castle, but it is believed to have been built around the 13th century, and abandoned in the 16th century. Apparently, there was at one time a town around it.
Although the Castle is in anadvanced state of ruin, with only three castle pillars left standing, it offers stargazers an area which is ‘relatively easy to access, very secure, and in addition to the great castle scenery, it is easy to see the stars at night’
