Fish Lake is a freshwater lake roughly 258 miles (416 km) south of the city of Yukon in Canada’s Yukon Territory. Please note that while there are no designated stargazing areas, the lake is accessible by the public year-round via a well-maintained gravel road, and also provides ample opportunity for hiking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and more for visitors who contact the nearby Sky High Wilderness Ranch. One EarthSky reader calls it “a perfect place to enjoy a night time winter hike with exceptional stargazing possibilities.” Please note that while camping is allowed, all reservations must be made through the Sky High Wilderness Center.
