Newberry Star Park

Newberry Star Park is Alachua Astronomy Club’s observing site at the Easton Newberry Sports Complex in Newberry, Florida, just 87 miles (140 km) southwest of Jacksonville, Florida. The park includes a 12-ft x 28-ft storage building, eight observing pads, and room for additional telescopes. The Alachua Astronomy Club is a publicly supported, not for profit organization of people who enjoy looking at stars and planets and who love to communicate their excitement about the heavens to others. Here at the star park is where they host public lectures and star parties, which are held on occasion and announced via the website’s event calendar. Camping is not permitted here, however the complex is open to the public between 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. For more information, please visit online or call (352)472-2388.
