Coast Guard Beach – Eastham

Coast Guard Beach – Eastham is located in eastern Massachusetts and is part of Cape Cod National Seashore. The beach, 93 miles (150 km) outside of Boston, has a rich history. The Mayflower briefly touched down at Coast Guard Beach on November 9, 1620, before a wind blew the ship free of the shoals and it continued on to its storied landing at Plymouth Rock. The area has also been the final resting place for more than 3,000 shipwrecks since 1626. Today’s stargazers won’t find camping in Cape Cod National Seashore, but there is camping nearby and other lodging in the park. Looking east will give you a view over the dark Atlantic Ocean.
