Cedar Breaks is the 16th of the 417 National Park Service (NPS) units to be designated as an International Dark Sky Park, and the first in southwestern Utah. Additionally, in 2016 readers of USA Today voted Cedar Breaks as the ‘Best National Park Night Experience.’
“There are lots of great places to see the night sky in southern Utah, but at the Breaks, you are already ‘on top of the world’ and can pretty much see from horizon to horizon. Elevation is 10,000 feet, so when it’s not summer, almost anywhere else in S. Utah is good!”
