Cayman Brac

Cayman Brac is the easternmost island of the Cayman Islands, a British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean Sea. A limestone cliff that runs the length of the island contains many caves. To the east, a lighthouse offers sea views; an engangered parrot sanctuary, offshore dives, and a Russian warship may also be explored. However while a beautiful destination for casual gazing, the area is not recommended for serious observations; the beaches are, for the most part, unaffected by artificial illumination, providing a dark and open sky for reasonable stargazing, while some local organizations like the Cayman Islands Astronomical Society have hosted stargazing events on occasion. Hotels, vacation lodges, and campgrounds are all available within the island. For more information, please visit online or call the Grand Cayman Head Office at 345-949-0623.
