Camp Verde

Camp Verde is a town in Yavapai County, just 91 miles (146 km) north of Phoenix, Arizona. It’s an accredited dark sky community, praised for their “coordinated efforts, both publicly and privately, to build support for the nomination and greater awareness of dark skies issues” by the International Dark Sky Association. If visitors would like to know more about the planets, stars, and galaxies, there are private stargazing retreats and campsites available for reserving at any time of the year, as well as an annual Dark Sky Festival that’s typically held in October, attended by astronomy professionals and amateurs alike. For more information, please visit online or call the Center of Camp Verde, Arizona at (928)554-0851.
