Bilby Ranch Lake Conservation Area

Bilby Ranch Lake Conservation Area is a livestock farm managed for a wide range of game and non-game wildlife species, about 108 miles (174 km) north of Kansas City, Kansas. Please note that while there are no designated stargazing areas, the lake is accessible by the public year-round and offers secluded boat ramps, fishing docks, small ponds, and more, with wide open night skies suited for gazing. One EarthSky reader says “it is far from any large city or even small town, public access, and also has restrooms.” Camping is also available at a number of sites around the lake. For more information, please visit online or call 816-271-3100.
