Bear Branch Nature Center

Bear Branch Nature Center in Maryland, a park-like setting with a lake and nature trails, has been serving the residents of Carroll County since 1993. A 29-seat planetarium, now fully-digital after its renovation in 2013, offers audiences a chance to participate in guided tours of the night sky. The Westminster Astronomical Society (https://www.westminsterastro.org/) meets every month at the planetarium and also operates the Blaine F. Roelke Memorial Observatory, which opened in 2015 within the premises of Bear Branch Nature Center. The center opens Fridays to Sundays until 5:00 pm, but regular astronomy lectures and night viewing events at Bear Branch are announced by the Society through their website.
