Bastrop State Park
January 11, 2018
Bastrop State Park is located 32 miles east of Austin, Texas. The park is open from 6 am to 10 pm, but it also has camping sites and 14 historic cabins for rent. Bastrop State Park protects part of the Lost Pines ecosystem, the westernmost stand of loblolly pines in the United States. The Lost Pines have been growing in this area for more than 18,000 years. Besides stargazing, visitors can swim, ride bikes, hike, fish, geocache, take in a nature program and look for wildlife.
