EarthSky receives NASA grant in 2007

EarthSky Communications, Inc., has received a grant from the NASA Earth Science Division. The award is dedicated to producing 90-second radio programs in the popular, internationally syndicated EarthSky radio series – plus 8-minute podcasts – on the subject of International Polar Year (IPY) which began in March 2007.

According to the website, IPY is a scientific program focused on the Arctic and Antarctic that will involve over 200 projects and thousands of scientists working together across the globe.

EarthSky Communications will help IPY in its mission of raising awareness about the polar regions. The EarthSky radio program creates 8 million daily impressions around the world, and its website has an audience as large as the biggest U.S. science museum.

The IPY programs will also air on EarthSky’s new Spanish language program, Cielo y Tierra.
