EarthSky now heard on San Francisco’s KALW-FM 91.7

Tune in Monday – Wednesday at 11:58 AM or stream live at www.kalw.org.

The short-format science radio series Earth & Sky today announced a new affiliate partnership with San Francisco’s KALW 91.7 FM. Beginning this month, Earth & Sky can be heard on this station Mondays through Wednesdays at 11:58 AM.

KALW Operations Manager Bill Helgeson said, ‘Our goal is to provide listeners with independent, credible news and information from a variety of local, national, and international sources. Earth & Sky fits this model. Best of all, they have a hopeful message.’

Earth & Sky was established in 1991 and is known to millions around the world. Its 90- and 60-second daily radio spots offer positive, hopeful messages about science, nature, and people in the 21st century.

Earth & Sky’s goal is to be a clear voice for science. More than 500 scientists work with Earth & Sky as advisors. In 2003, the National Science Board – advisors to the U.S. President and Congress – awarded Earth & Sky its prestigious public service award for ‘its achievements in broadcasting explanations of research and everyday science to a worldwide audience.’ Earth & Sky was the first radio program to ever receive this award.
