This Facebook map of the world shows the connections between about 10 million friends, according to Paul Butler, a Facebook intern with their data infrastructure engineering team. It’s a map of the human world of relations, not just one of roads and political divisions.
“Each line might represent a friendship made while traveling, a family member abroad, or an old college friend pulled away by the various forces of life,” writes Butler, who created the Facebook map of the world.
