Waxing Crescent Moon and the Pleiades.
At 6.23 pm on Saturday 22nd April the two-and-a-half day old 7% illuminated Waxing Crescent Moon was photographed in the vicinity of the Pleiades Star cluster which was about to set behind the flank of Transmitter Hill near Mutare. This was a lucky capture as thin cloud which was causing a halo around the Moon had cleared sufficiently a short distance below to reveal the Pleiades to the camera but not the naked eye!
