I tweaked exposure and color saturation to match what my eye saw.

Full disclosure: As I took this shot my Crowkin were, as usual at this time of day, returning to our land from their night roosts. They crossed my camera lens many times, but not during the brief appearance of the sun pillar. Since I was hanging out our 2nd story bedroom window in my jammies in 11ΒΊF windchill, I opted not to wait for the perfect shot! So I Photoshopped the Crows in after the fact. Sorry not sorry. πŸ˜†πŸ˜πŸ˜†

Image Details:

As we approach the Vernal Equinox, the orb of our local star is progressing toward a due East sunrise. And that means I can now see it full on out my window. This morning's dawn streaked liquid gold through our local birch forest, then shot an amazing, flamelike sun pillar straight upward! The effect lasted but a few moments and extinguished as the sun rose into a cloud layer above it. But that golden globe and its mighty flame was glorious!
