Hearing their distinct twittering, it didn't take long to see this pair of Black Oystercatchers foraging on the rocky shores. They have large orange red bill, orange-red eye ring, yellow iris, and pale pink legs. Despite its name, they seldom eat oysters, feeding mostly on mussels, whelk, crabs, purple urchins, sea anemones and other mollusks. They are generally known to mate for life and the pairs remain together year round.
