One looooong single exposure. All 5 meteors were captured in this single shot with my new Rokinon 10mm lens. The brightest Perseid meteor had some green and magenta flashing while the others were fainter.

I camped two nights in The Last Chance Desert ( that REALLY is the name of it! ). The first night was a bust as our weather pattern had changed during the day Friday, the 6th, and the NW winds blew copious amounts of night sky obliterating smoke in from the Bootleg Fire in Oregon.

Salt Lake City quickly earned "the city with the worst air quality award on the planet" that day. For real. Down south where I drove to was supposed to be clearer. Not!

But a stiff breeze blew all day Saturday and by evening cleared a decent amount of smoke out for me to decide to stay for a second night. So glad I stayed! The smoke layer was low on the horizon causing a yellow/brown haze layer.

I made the most of it and shot around 250 images from dusk to 145 AM. I should have done twice that. Next time! This was my first session with two Rokinon wide angle lenses. The 14mm and a newly purchased 10mm. Great bang for the low cost lenses!

Fireball meteors were popping off all night all around me but mainly before or just after my exposures. Or just a few hundred miles out of my image area. Grrrr! Ha ha!

I'm so glad to see so many Perseid meteor captures this week on the EarthSky Community board!
