IC 5070, Cygnus (Pelican Nebula) + Molecular Cloud L935, TSAPO65Q

The Pelican Nebula, lying at a distance of 1500-2000 light years, is a part of a large gas and dust region that includes NGC 7000, the N America Nebula. IC 5070 derives its name from a resemblance to a pelican, although it also looks like a rabbit running toward the north. The region is an extensive stellar nursery in which ultraviolet radiation from new, large and very hot stars excites and ionizes surrounding hydrogen clouds, causing them to re-emit the energy mostly in the red Ha light. Cold, dark molecular cloud L935 lies in the foreground between Pelican and N America nebulae, behind bright blue star 57 Cygni, above the pelican's beak.

Parallel lines within the nebulae are caused by ionized gas aligning along Galactic magnetic fields.
