The waxing crescent moon showing the Earthshine. The dark side of the moon is dimly lit by the light reflected from the Earth, and is mostly see when the lunar phase is crescent or nearly new.

Just before the moon set over the northwestern part of Singapore, it appeared as an orange-red smiling crescent.
