Young Crescent Moon in Hazy Sunset Twilight Sky.
On Friday 18th September the young (29 hour old) Crescent Moon was observed descending towards Murahwa Mountain on the western horizon in a smoke hazed sunset twilight sky despite poor seeing conditions. It was at first only possible to see it descending through the bright afterglow of sunset at higher magnifications in the camera viewfinder before becoming more clearly visible to the naked eye as twilight and darkness approached.
