Nikon Z7 with 80-400 mm zoom lens, set to 260mm, 1/320th of a second, ISO 800, photographed RAW
processed using Adobe Raw to reduce sky glow and moon brightness from the single image and to compressed to jpg format, then further compressed by Photoshop to comply with size limit for EarthSky submission
This was the super moon rising on April 7th over San Francisco Bay. Alcatraz Island is visible in the lower left, and below the moon in the sky from six to nine o'clock some birds are freely soaring. San Francisco has been in a shelter in place lockdown, but individual exercise (walking, running, hiking, biking) are allowed for exercise. I biked over the golden gate bridge and then hiked up a hill on the Marin side with my camera and tripod to catch this scene. The "pink moon" was not particularly pink but the sky above it was after sunset.
