Post-sunset Twilight Displays 7-15th March
Early March has seen the premature end of the rainy season with clear skies around sunset on many days. The accompanying mosaic prepared from nine pictures taken at the same time (6.27 pm) and from the same viewpoint each day from the 7th to 15th, shows sharp changes between two periods with spectacular post sunset twilight arches and/or crepuscular rays and one which lasted four days in which there were no colourful displays. This is believed to be due to the coming and going of patches of either volcanic or forest fire derived aerosols which circulate on the stratospheric airflow around the Earth. A similar pattern was observed in February with two spectacular displays described in my gallery posts dated 17th and 22nd.
