Old Moon-Jupiter Conjunction
The first clear sky at dawn for over a week made it possible to observe the close conjunction (appulse) between the first old waning Moon of the decade and Jupiter. In the close-up of the pair taken at 4.38 am, twenty minutes after they appeared, our Moon is displaying strong Earthshine and Jupiter has three of its Moons visible in almost vertical alignment.
