The Southern Milky Way alongside Sirius and Canopus.
In the image the bright meteor above Canopus reminds me of an Iridium flare of days gone by. In reality, it took less than a second for it to streak by and was much brighter than Sirius.
Judging by it's direction of travel, I suspect this to be an early Leonid meteor.
