As the waning crescent approaches the Sun it becomes difficult to see in the daytime and even more difficult to image. This is where a CPL (polarizing) filter comes in handy. It darkens the sky and improves the contrast. This image was taken at mid-day when the Moon was only 21% illuminated. Of course I took this image to capture the happy cloud creature about to grab the Moon.
