Image Details:

Our guide took us to Vogar, where we parked at a lovely church. Vogar connects the Reykjanes peninsula with the capital area of Reykjavík. The municipality covers 200 km2 of land, 30 km of the coastline from Hafnarfjörður to Reykjanesbær to the mountain ridge of Grænadyngja. My tripod was on a N. Atlantic seawall for this, 20sec, ISO3200 exposure intended to capture the vertically blooming lights and reflecting pools, producing a fully involved stellar-terrestrial image. The view is slightly west of north based on the Big Dipper at top of frame.
