I could write a book about what appears in this 150x image. But I'll give you the Reader's Digest version:
Chptr1. There are actually many letters, numbers and symbols that can be found on the Moon depending on the lunation. Here is another lunar "v" with a different font. It's formed by the rims of 3 unremarkable craters.
Chptr2. The isolated Riphaeus and Carpatus (or Carpathian depending on your religion) Mts. were formed by lava flows and pyroclatic deposits. The Riphaeus Mts. is my lunar "M".
Chptr3. Note the long shadows cast by the Eastern and Western rims of Copernicus (West is down). That is a very steep rim!
Chptr4. Note the impact rays coming out of tiny Kepler. What a fantastic impact that must have been.
Cptr5. Ghost craters are impact craters that were filled in by the lava flows that formed the Ocean of Storms.
Epilogue:
You don't just look at an image. You study it.
Otherwise, what's the point?
