Image Details:

[See note below] I spent the evening imaging the Milky Way over Alder Lake in western Washington. During this particular 20 second exposure, I captured a bright Perseid meteor streaking across the sky. It was an amazing night, during which the ISS passed overhead along with numerous satellites. Jupiter and Saturn also crossed the southern sky. The bright white ball just the right of the lower half of the Milky Way is Jupiter.

UPDATE: Hi, Last night I submitted an image of the Milky Way over Alder Lake, Washington. In this image, I had captured what I thought was a Perseid meteor. I was in error. I took a lot of images last night and I was skipping around looking at them in no particular order. I had indeed seen a very bright meteor last night and because this image showed a bright streak with a "tail," I assumed it was that meteor. I neglected to look at the two preceding 20 second exposures. What I captured was not a meteor. It was the ISS! ...which I also saw go by last night. Very bright I might add. What I thought was a "tail" was actually the light trailing off the station as it moved out of the sunlight. The "tail" is actually pointing in the direction the ISS was moving. Anyway, I wanted to make sure you got the correct information about that photo. I didn't capture a Perseid but I did catch a space station. I guess that's a reasonable consolation prize for the evening :) Cheers!
