Jupiter was near the moon this past weekend. Here they are on August 6, 2016. Roberto Porto at Tenerife, one of Spain’s Canary Islands, caught this amazing photo. It shows the moon with a lunar corona and Jupiter, over Volcano Teide. At (12,198 feet (3,718-meters), this volcano is the highest point in Spain and the highest point above sea level in the islands of the Atlantic.
