Milky Way at Lake St George, Maine Boat Launch
On this night/morning of shooting the sky I had great company – some frogs on the water’s edge, a few loons singing back & forth across the lake, and the best wild companion I’ve had on a night shoot so far – a barred owl hanging out in a tree next to me who called out every few minutes. I especially like the reflections of the stars and the Milky Way next to the dock in this shot. There is also a small amount of green airglow in the sky. The light pollution on the right hand side is coming from a few local camps and buildings. This image has been processed through Lightroom 4 & Photoshop CS5.
