This dark-sky park is part of Velká Fatra National Park in Slovakia. From the dark-sky park’s website: “Current territory of 325 hectares will be the basis for the further expansion of the central ridge of the Great Fatra. Park location in the ‘heart of Slovakia,’ at an altitude of 1,300 meters, just 30 km from Banska Bystrica [a city in central Slovakia], has huge potential for development of astrotourism. Night sky here is very efficient, without the telescope we can see almost 2,000 stars, the Milky Way’s silvery path, and many objects in the distant universe.” Visit the dark-sky park’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/fatranskatma/
