South Fork State Recreation Area

South Fork State Recreation Area is a Nevada state park comprising of marsh, meadowlands and hills, about 248 miles (399 km) west of Salt Lake City, Utah. Please note that while there are no designated stargazing areas, the park is accessible by the public year-round and boats flourishing meadows and rolling hills, with northeastern Nevada wildlife and wide open night skies suited for gazing. Sightings of mule deer, badgers, beavers and kit foxes are a common sight. With the Ruby Mountains as a backdrop, visitors can enjoy boating, swimming and fishing as well.
