Silvretta Bielerhöhe (Bielerhöhe Pass) is located in a high mountain pass in the Austrian Alps between the Austrian states of Vorarlberg and Tyrol. It connects Montafon in Vorarlberg and the Paznaun valley in Tyrol. The area is popular with hikers in summer and skiers in winter. A large car park is suitable to set up telescopes. An EarthSky stargazer wrote in 2016: “Silvretta Bielerhöhe is 2,032 meters (6,666 feet) above sea level and spared from any light pollution. This place guarantees you outstanding astronomical observations.”
