Eagle Eye Observatory

Eagle Eye Observatory, owned by the Austin Astronomical Society, offers viewing to the public. Call for dates and times.

Eagle Eye Observatory is located in the Canyon of the Eagles Resort, 25 minutes from Burnet, 50 minutes from Llano, 90 minutes northwest of Austin.

The 16-inch Ealing “Educator” Cassegrain Telescope gives research-quality views of the moon and distant stars, while the 12.5-inch Newtonian telescope provides a vibrant eye on the night sky. The Observatory is operated several nights a week, weather permitting, and is always complimentary to Canyon of the Eagles resort guests. Public Star Parties, hosted monthly by the Austin Astronomical Society, feature additional astronomical equipment from the Society’s private collection.
