Miss them? Don’t worry. The moon will be moving up higher in the twilight sky each evening this week. It’ll be between Venus and a fainter planet, Mars, on the evening of December 23. On Christmas Eve – evening of December 24 – the moon will be near Mars. Happy holidays to all!

Let the waxing crescent moon guide you to Mars and Venus on December 22, December 23 and December 24. The green line depicts the ecliptic - sun's annual path in front of the constellations of the Zodiac.

Bottom line: Look outside shortly after sunset to see the waxing crescent moon and planets, December 22-24, 2014. Best photos here!
