Rob,
Frankly, my personal belief is very strongly on the side of abundant life -- and likely abundant "intelligent" life -- in the known Universe. To me it "seems" logical and likely, but suh belief is based on presumed probabilities and a desire, and not on any evidence at all. So there is the problem. There are those of us who base our beliefts purely on impressions and desires, and those who moderate such beliefs on evidence and scientific principles. I may be wrong or I may be right, but I adhere to the concept of the second group. Regardless of what my personal, biased and quite possibly distorted desires might be, I will base my beliefs on good, solid, scientific evidence.

As for now, there is NO good, solid scientific evidence that ANY reporeted UFO sighting amounts to the visitation of our planet by any alien spacecraft, being or technolgy. Frankly, I wish it were otherwise. I very much hope that we discover good evidence of truly intelligent life elsewhere in the Universe before I die. I am optimistic of it. But I am careful not to let my desire overpower my understanding of reality. I would rather die with the question unclear or unanswered, than to die with the answer distorted or falsely answered.

Mr Sessions
I agree on first impressions. One must be honest with themselves and be very open minded. Truth usually ,really is stranger than fiction so,its a job sometimes to keep things in perspective. A closed mind is not a good thing. When minds cannot be changed even if in the face of complete empirical, untainted, honest evidence that, is probably someone who cannot be reached.

If I ever do happen to see a 'Real' with out a doubt flying saucer I, will still have the main question of whether its ET or Black Ops terrestrial and perhaps the question, can we have an induced first impression ?

Cheers
