		<description>Hi Dean, thanks for the info.  Yes, it seems there was an unnecessary and sensationalistic blowup of info here. Too bad, because some people are scared of this asteroid, and they don&#039;t need to be.

That date - April 13, 2036 - has been around for several years, by the way.  We mentioned that date in EarthSky&#039;s original interview with Don Yeomans about asteroid Apophis in 2006.  So the Russian scientists didn&#039;t just pinpoint the date.

		<description>Anthony, I understand your frustration.  It stems from the fact that space is very BIG.  And these little asteroids are tiny by contrast.  At least we have the technology to find them!
