Sarkis K. Mazmanian is an assistant professor of biology at California Institute of Technology. He recenty led a mult-year study on the connection between gut bacteria and the autoimmune disease multiple sclerosis. His lab examines the relationships between gut microbes, both harmful and helpful, and the immune systems of their mammalian hosts.
